Actor Cha Tae-hyeon to Marry on June 1 (2006/05/25)

Actor Cha Tae-hyeon has sent a message to his fans ahead of his wedding on June 1. His bride is his high school friend, whom he says is his first love.

In the message announced by his agency Sidus HQ on Thursday, he said that he is very happy every day waiting for one of his long-cherished dreams to soon be realized.

"I will finally come to see the fruit of love that I have nurtured for 13 years on June 1, 2006. I will no longer be small individual Cha Tae-hyeon but reborn as a husband of a woman and head of a family", he said. "On one side of my mind I feel worried that I may not do well, but on the other side I cannot help feeling delighted".

He is also determined to do his best to lead a happy life. "I will do everything to live happily with my life partner whom I love. We both will try to understand and love each other more", he said. Finally he asked his fans to bless his marriage.

Cha's wedding will be held at the Walker Hill Hotel in Seoul.

Bae Yong-joon Laments the Price of Fame

One of the Korean Wave's best-known faces, actor Bae Yong-joon, has confided that he received psychological treatment for insomnia. In an interview in the June edition of men's magazine GQ Korea, the actor disclosed he had difficult times lately and sought psychiatric help for his sleepless nights.

"I've been really tired, so I'd try to get some sleep, but after an hour or two I'd always wake up. When I woke up, I thought it must be about 6 a.m., but when I looked at the clock I realized that it was only 1 or 2 a.m"., Bae said. "It was truly dark and desolate. It was so difficult that I went to see a doctor, who said I was too tense, and that frayed my nerves and actually made it worse. I got a prescription for some pills, and after about 10 days I beat the problem".

The man known as Yonsama to his many Japanese fans also talks of his discomfort over a rumor that he got a Japanese woman pregnant. "There was a rumor that a woman living out in the country claimed she was carrying my child", the actor said. "A lot of Japanese fans would like to see me quickly settle down and have a family".

The interviewer says it looks as if Bae is unable to enjoy any semblance of a normal life. "There can be nothing like that for me", the star replies. "The house, the office, the gym: my sphere of activity is pretty limited. There's a coffee shop at a hotel that our company manages, but even there I have to go in through the back door". He admits to despairing sometimes when he thinks that this is how he has to live the rest of his life.

"There are some who can live their lives freely even in such an environment, but my personality just can't deal with it", he adds. "I can't escape the lines that I've drawn for myself, or the lines that others have drawn for me. I am always finding myself back inside. Honestly, that is something that really bothers me".

PLDT LABOR DISPUTE

Let me share a news which pissed me off so much and I emphatized with the people who are affected. I use to work with this company and I practically know all these people. Hope they get justice to what management had done to them.

Labor dispute brewing


PLDT finance guys Celso Dimarucut and Jojo Ibay are persona non grata as far as employees of the PLDT finance department who were unceremoniously discharged from their positions which they have held for far longer than these two have.

Certain employees were told that "due to process improvement and technological changes," there was an excess of positions. When asked for the manner of selecting who should go and who should stay, Dimarucut said certain criteria were followed in consultation with the department head, Ibay, who was on bereavement leave. He then advised the employees to either avail of the mandatory redundancy program (MRP) or be redeployed if there’s an opening.

The affected employees were asked to vacate their workplaces effective May 2 and even before they were informed that they were being dismissed due to redundancy, their access to the Systems Application Program (SAP) was terminated. Dimarucut also informed them that starting May 2, they will be reassigned to the Placement Opportunity Center where they will have to wait for a job opening.

It appears that some of those who will be retained and who will be absorbing the workload of the dismissed employees are not qualified. Non-accountants will be doing the work of accountants, in short.

During the meeting of those who will be retained, some even volunteered to give up their jobs in place of those who needed the job more but according to Dimarucut, this can’t be done without giving any explanation.

There are rumors that in exchange for the termination of the employees, Dimarucut and Ibay will be receiving a higher variable pay.

There are talks though that Ibay was forced by Dimarucut to terminate the employees. He was given the number of heads to chop off. If left to Jojo, he would have kept most of the employees because the whole finance team of PLDT is undermanned.

If there is a redundant employee, it is Dimarucut, insiders say. He comes to work shortly before lunch and leaves early. And since he just orders his people to do all the work, then the few remaining employees will even be more loaded with work. His people slave till 3 to 4 in the morning, while Dimarucut takes off at 5 pm.

But more importantly, why would a company earning P30 billion lay off people? Isn’t that pure greed and heartlessness? The long-term incentive plan or bonus of Dimarucut is enough to pay the salaries of most of the terminated employees. Maybe top management should review the very high LTIP bonuses of the executives instead of firing the lowly employees.

The biggest fear of top management is if the 9,000-strong rank-and-file and supervisors‚ unions band together and go on strike. This will leave a skeleton force of less than 500 executives and officers to run the company. With this move of Dimarucut, both union heads have reportedly started talking about joining forces. Dimarucut may have just started the downfall of the biggest company in the Philippines.

Dimarucut reports to Annabelle Chua, the treasurer of PLDT and Chris Young, the chief financial advisor. The employees are looking to Chua and Young to intercede and do what is right unless the order came from them.

Permission To Feel

Throughout our lives, we may experience emotions that disturb or distress us. Often, our first reaction is to push our feelings away. We may say, "I don't want to think about that right now, I'll think about it later" and we bury our emotions, deny the validity of our feelings, or distract ourselves with other concerns. But the diverse emotions you experience are neither good nor bad-they are simply a part being human. Choosing not to experience pain, anger, or other intense feelings could cause those feelings to become buried deep into your physical body. There, they may linger unresolved and unable to emerge, even as they affect the way you experience the world. Allowing yourself to experience all of your emotions rather than push the more painful ones away can help you come to terms with your feelings so you can experience them and then move on.

It is possible to bring forth the old feelings you have pushed aside and experience them in a safe and enriching way. It may sound silly to set aside time to feel your old wounds that you haven't dealt with, but this can be a very beneficial healing experience. Find a safer place and pick a time when you can be alone. Make sure that you feel secure and comfortable in your surroundings. Bring to mind the circumstances that originally triggered the emotions you've been pushing away. You may need to revisit these circumstances by reading relevant entries in your journal or using visualization to relive your past. Once you have triggered your long-denied emotions, let yourself feel your feelings, and try not to judge your reactions. Cry or sound your emotions if you need to, and don't block the flow of your feelings. Allow any thoughts that are connected to your emotions to surface. As you release the feelings you have pushed inside of you, you will find yourself healing from ! the experience associated with these emotions.

When you deal with your feelings directly, they can move through you rather than staying stopped up in your body as emotional blocks that can sometimes turn into disease. Acknowledging your emotions, instead of pushing them away, allows you to stay emotionally healthy and in touch with your feelings.

(also from JYP where our Oppa Rain working). i arranged for her to meet with a chinngu named Raina, moderator of Jeongjihun.com and a good news is Raina was able to get Riza ticket to ING concert to be held on May 20 and i-concert which will be held on May 27. i am happy for my friend because she will get the chance to see Rain perform again. anyway pictures of the concert and some fanvid will be okay and its enough birthday present for me, hehehe

another thing, i would like to thank my friends who gave were with me to celebrate in advance my birth. i enjoyed it so much even though i was up for almost 48 hours without any sleep. it was indeed a nice memory to keep in my heart and you know the best part about this birthday celebration, we were formed not because we were office mates or long time childhood friends, we get the chance to be together because of one particular person. i owe him a lot and if somedaty the admiration for this korean guy would die down at least i met new friends whom i enjoy being with right now. my simple wish right now is for us to be together until the end, there may be problems along the way but thats okay as long as its not much of a problem that we wont be able to forgive (hwag pasaway!!!Tita Susan sleep, love you!!!)
