THANKS TET

Chinggu thanks for taking care of the posting updates on our shinhwa blog. I beg off for awhile and maybe I wont be around for a while.

Thanks sis, will make it up to you.

take care all!

THIS IS WHATs BOTHERING ME

Last Saturday was not a good day for me. Feeling so low that day even at work and i have to cry silently in one of the cubicles of the rest room so that no one will know that I am crying. I did not feel any better after the cry coz I still felt so low. I was talking to Lai how I am feeling but to be honest, all I want to do then was to leave the office and just walk around.

We had our regular QMA meeting so I have to shape up. When its my turn to monitor and evaluate my agent's call, I have to look at an officemate just to tell him to bail me out coz I cant even do a good evaluation. He held my hand and asked if I'm okay and told him I'm not. He knew that something is wrong, he told me that I was even given a good review by my Manager coz for someone who is new in the position, I was able to do a good job when it comes to call evaluation. I just looked at him and gave me a nice hug and told me to tell him what's bothering me. I just smiled and told him I'll try. "Good enough," is all he said.

When my Manager came into the meeting, the first thing she said was she needs to talk to me. To be honest I did not felt good about that but waited until the meeting finished. We were in the middle of the meeting when I was told that one of my staff was terminated effective the same day. That broke my heart and I have to cry so much that very minute.

I was so depressed that day and i cant face the rest of my staff after the meeting. Our VP, saw me crying and I told him what happend. He knew about the termination thing and ask if he could do something about it. I mean, this staff that they are terminating is a guy who never had any discipline issue even before I became their RAMO. He said he did what he can to help my agent but Management doesnt want to reconsider.
I hated it when my manager told me that we have to escort him out of the building that day.
I begged off coz its hard enough to tell my staff he's terminated but escorting him out of the building is another story. Call me a weakling but I dont think I can handle that.
Am i talking sense, even I myself dont think so. Thinking about what happend that day made me question even my own self. "Am I fit for this Job?"

Showbiz Suicides Alarm Management Agencies

This news is sad. I really like this girl in Attic Cat.

Alarm bells are ringing in Korea's entertainment business after the apparent suicides of pop singer U;Nee and actress Jeong Da-bin within three weeks of each other.

Agencies are clearly worried. While the stars ostensibly enjoy wealth and fame, they are also more at risk than ordinary people because their kudos can vanish in an instant. The fickle nature of the business brings its attendant anxieties, especially for women, experts say.

The actress Choi Jin-sil recalls the envy of other performers when she was a teen star. "You may think that the happiest moments come with the 'golden time' of celebrity", she says. "But the mental stress is extreme as well". She admits she suffered from great insecurity not knowing if her fame would last.

Then there is the threat of litigation. As a star's popularity soars and their fees rise, lawsuits become commonplace, especially from management agencies. Jeong was being sued for pulling out of a contract with her former management agency in February 2005. Already in 2002, she was accused of failing to hand over part of her pay to the agency. She lost.

Min Sung-kil, a psychiatrist from Severance Hospital said celebrities in many cases are more exposed to stress than ordinary people. "As a last resort, depressed celebrities may choose to kill themselves".

Management agencies are reassessing their role to protect the celebrities they represent. Namoo Actors, the agency of the actress Lee Eun-joo, who committed suicide in 2005, is taking more time with its star entertainers. Fantom Entertainment Group, which represents the actresses Han Hyo-joo and So Yoo-jin and singer Ivy, is taking particular care with its female clients, including ample consultation time.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (NISI) after a postmortem on Monday tentatively concluded the death of Jeong Da-bin was suicide. It said there was no evidence of foul play and Jeong's body showed clear evidence of death by hanging. Jeong's boyfriend, identified by his last name Lee, who discovered the body and called police, said the actress first tried to kill herself by cutting her wrist in Sept. 2006. Jeong's family and her new agency had requested the postmortem, asserting that the scar on her wrist was the result of a suicide attempt in her teens, not last year, and saying she had no reason to kill herself.

Jeong's funeral service was delayed by a day due to the postmortem and will now be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Asan Medical Center.

TWO FRIENDS

A story tells that two friends were walking
through the desert. During some
point of the journey they had an argument, and
one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt,
but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis,
where they decided to take a bath. The one who
had been slapped got stuck in the mire and
started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near
drowning, he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and
saved his best friend asked him,
"After I hurt you, you wrote in the
sand and now, you write on a stone,
why?" The other friend replied "When someone
hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds
of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone
does something good for us, we must engrave
it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND
AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.

Send this phrase to the people you'll never
forget. It's a short message to let them
know that you'll never forget them.

Do not value the THINGS you have in your life..
But value WHO you have in your life!

What Next as Stars Emerge Blinking From the Military? (2007/01/30)

Hopes run high in show business as some top stars return to the limelight this year after two years in forced retirement due to their military service.

Fans of So Ji-sub, Song Seung-heon, Jang Hyeok and Ji Seong look forward to seeing them back on TV. But given the fickle nature of the entertainment world, it remains to be seen whether they will be able to reclaim their old status. What advice can experts give them? The Chosun Ilbo asked 10 renowned TV producers and writers to offer their opinions.

So Ji-sub

So Ji-sub rose to stardom with his sincere portrayal of reserved, gloomy characters in dramas like "Something Happened in Bali" and "Sorry, I Love You". Now he needs to challenge himself to lighter, funnier characters to expand his potential as an actor. He needs to show the public a different, easier side of him. Even if he decides to appear in a melodrama, he shouldn't take a too serious role. The cynical character in a romantic comedy would be a good idea. Or he might try his luck in a film, ignoring the clamor from TV producers. If he does, he might be well advised to start in a low-budget independent movie rather than a blockbuster. If at all possible, however, he should try to preserve his very special aura.

So will be discharged in April.

Song Seung-heon

Song's prettiness has rather worked against him in choosing parts. He needs to look closely at the road fellow actor Jang Dong-gun has taken in his efforts to gain recognition for his acting rather than his looks. Song should choose a strong, tough role for his comeback that can erase his gentlemanly image in melodramas like "Autumn in my Heart". He will have to put everything he has into whatever role he is going to play to make the public forget the draft-dodging scandal. Why not play an evil or cold-blooded character? Whatever part he decides to play, he should project a tough, masculine image. This is all the more important if he wants to see adulation in Japan to continue. But he should try to impress Korean fans first.

Song was discharged in November.

Jang Hyeok

Jang Hyeok is considered a spirited and potentially versatile actor. But before he had a chance to prove his potential, he disappeared into the military after a draft-dodging scandal. Now, he should move on from the young energetic parts to show a more serious, mature side, extending his appeal to older audiences. It may suit him to play a gentle character in a heart-warming human drama. Or he could try to revive the image he projected as a taciturn rebellious teenager in the drama "School" in 1999.

Jang was discharged in November.

Ji Seong

Ji Seong has set himself up as such a paragon of virtue that he urgently needs a charismatic evil part that is hard to forget. He could take Sean Penn as a model. Just before joining the army, he tried to do just that with "Blood Rain", where he played a bad man who had been damaged by life and left a strong impression despite the fact that he appeared in only a few scenes. A similarly impressive character will do nicely for a comeback.

Ji will be discharged in June.
